Desktop.com, which has raised over $4 million in seed money, exited beta this week.

Desktop.com has officially launched the non-beta version of its product.

The service is the brainchild of .Global founder Rolf Larsen. Larsen sold .Global to Afilias in 2019 and began working on his vision for Desktop.com shortly thereafter.

The timing could be fortuitous. At its core, Desktop.com is a system that helps companies and their employees manage web apps and collaborate online. This has become more important as workers went remote in the wake of Covid-19.

Desktop.com’s product is free for small teams of up to 4 people and $8-$10 per month for larger organizations and ones that need additional features.

Investors in Desktop.com include Frank Schilling, Idealab (which sold the domain to the company under a payment plan) and Oslo’s Norse Digital. The company has raised over $4 million in seed rounds.
